Of all products from Skåne, Absolut Vodka is the most well-known. Production started already in 1879 in the small town Åhus, where it is still produced. In 1979 Absolut was introduced on the global market rapidly becoming a world brand. Since 2008 Absolut is part of Pernod Ricard and the third largest brand of spirits in the world.
An even older product with a distinct Skåne heritage is spickeskinka often referred to as the Parma ham of Sweden. The one served tonight comes from Degeberga Slakteri, a small award winning slaughter.
Wild garlic is wild growing plant which has had a revival during recent years in line with the spirit of the Nordic Food manifest. Tonight you will be introduced to the flavor both with herring and in the main course.
Cheese is another product which has had a revival with the birth of a number of small dairies. At Vilhelmsdals goat farm and dairy production is made by hand. Only milk, salt, rennet and lactic acid. No honkey punky. Tonight we present three cheeses; Bocke – Pär, Tant Elsa and Britta.
